Lexile Searching in Sirsi

You can now search the catalog (Enterprise) for materials of a certain Lexile score. Click on the drop down menu beside the search box, select the "Lexile Number" option and then enter a number into the search box. Note: You can only search for one Lexile number at a time.

If you want to search for more than one Lexile number (or search for a range of Lexile numbers), then there are two possible workarounds.

1. In the catalog, let the search menu default to "All Fields." Then enter the the term "Lexile" and click on the search button. This will bring-up a large number of results. Scroll down the until you find the "Lexile Number" option on the left-hand side of the page. Check-off as many Lexile numbers as you wish and then select the include button.

2. In Workflows, bring up the "Item Search and Display" window. Set the index field to "General" and leave the search type at keyword. Then type in the appropriate Lexile scores in the search field, separated by the boolean search term "OR." For example, you can type in the term "500 Lexile or 620 Lexile or 910 Lexile." This search will bring-up any items with Lexile scores of 500, 620 or 910.
